Chapter 1 Mia "Mother, I'm back" I said as I dropped the vegetables I harvested from the farm into a burlap sack. "Mia, you are overworking yourself. Don't struggle for me anymore, just get married and live your life" my mother said again. "Mother, you know that it is entirely impossible for me to leave your side and besides, the right man will come when it is time" I smiled in reassurance. Indeed, I was not ready for marriage. All I want is to see a smile on my mother's face, and know that she is eating and resting well. I don't want her worrying about me. After my father died during the war, things had been hectic for my mother and I. I didn't have many friends, mostly because of our lack of wealth, and because we lived in an isolated part of the village.
